Ashisuto is a Japanese company that publishes and distributes computer software packages primarily for large business corporations and other large organizations in Japan. We incorporated the company, K.K. Ashisuto, in 1972 and have conducted business successfully ever since. We employ 800 persons in our offices at Tokyo, Sapporo, Sendai, Nagoya, Matsumoto, Kanazawa, Osaka, Kobe, Hiroshima and Fukuoka.
Nearly all of our operating revenues come from publishing and distributing computer software products, and providing services related to those products. We do not develop the products ourselves. Our 2008 revenues were about 20 billion yen.
As a publisher of software, we help the authors or owners adapt their products to the Japanese market. For example, the software must support the Japanese language, which contains several thousand 'Kanji' ideographs. The software also must fit Japanese customs and practices, and run on the computers and support related devices that are popular here. Of course, all marketing materials and user manuals must be in Japanese.
